Archaeological Complex of Ventarron supposedly 5000 years old
Discovery of Temple of La Chacana (Temple of the War Club). Resourse:
The zone or location was recovered in Pomalca when it was used as a garbage disposal.
Due to its symbols and colours it would have a more representative and historical importance than those to Caral

Two months ago with a good archaeological eye or cent of the well-known Peruvian Archaeologist Ignacio Alva Meneses discovered a transcending archaeological complex, which paradoxically was located in the midst of a general garbage disposal area near the village - town of Ventarron, in the district of Pomalca in Lambayeque. After some excavations the archaeological complex of Ventarron is converted into the oldest archaeological rest in Peru, which also symbolizes in form a "Chacana" (A War Club).

Pre-Inca Roots:

What was once thought to be an Inca symbol, now dates back to thousands of years ago. The investigators in charge of this discovery estimate that ancient Peruvians started to edify this temple in the form of the "Chacana" (War Club) roughly about 4 - 5 thousand years ago.

According to the findings it is assumed that the people who constructed this complex were real architects. This not only because of its cross form but because of the variety of multi colour used to paint the walls, which converts it into a real jewel in the most important location in the Lambayeque Valley.

Whilst continuing the excavation of the rest of the Temple which occupies 10 square meters, the archaeologist Ignacio Alva commented that his sixth sense that there was something valuable under the garbage filled dumpster.

The team of archaeologists and workers led by Ignacio and Walter Alva have found walls more than two meters high, which in style are geometrical with vertical and transversal bands, and have also been painted in grey, blue, red, yellow, black and white. These colours were produced and based on a series of combination of natural pigments with ashes.

Alva Meneses, who is a resident archaeologist of Ventarron, explains that the location was discovered in the southeast section of the temple of "Venado Cautivo" (Deer in Captivity) in the year 2007. He also said "We are also trying to excavate the central area in order to investigate what type of ceremonies were celebrated there, because it appears that alters are present to the cult of fire. This complex could have been a special ceremonial chamber".

The investigator reminded that it is the first time that the "Chacana" common Inca symbol has appeared clearly in an architectonic construction.

He also says " inclusively we think that it was the first centre of civilization because what marks the difference with Caral is that here in this discovery you find rich paintings, iconic symbols, a very rich expression of mural art, combined with a wide array of colours", He also indicated that in the place, were found fish offerings.

Walter Alva also said that "Lambayeque had a fundamental and very important role concerning to the origins of the Peruvian culture, which clearly evidences that there was a very ancient civilization process".
