A new space for history and culture has been inaugurated. The Museum in Chotuna-Chornancap opened its doors this last Sunday, unique in its kind due to the reason that in place of showing the riches in gold, silver and ancestral ornaments of ancient regents of the northern part of Peru, it shows you how they lived and its history, in the very same place where the Lambayeque culture was born.

A powerful dynasty which later on reigned the whole valley.

Who visit this new attraction will witness the reconstruction of diverse scenarios which occurred 1.250 years ago in a place which today is known as the San Jose District.

Here you may get to know an extraordinary history, that with years of investigation and study has stopped being a legend. We refer to the mythical disembarkation of Naylamp on the shores, half Hero and half God. This person arrived in the northern part of Peru with a singular escort of people.

this being registered by the chronicler Miguel Cabello de Balboa in 1576 based on oral tales of the locals. 300 year later it was confirmed thanks to patient investigation on behalf of Enrique Bruning. In this present century this history has been now taken to a museum.
