TOURIST ATTRACTIONS OF LORETO
COMMUNITITES TO BE SHOWCASED
Customs, gastronomy and biodiversity of three communities in Punchana, Loreto, will be promoted as part of a tourism project carried out by the local authorities to support environment conservation and promote rural community tourism, reported the Regional Chamber of Tourism.
The three communities are San Andres and Padre Cocha, located near Nanay river, and Santa Clara del Ojeal, located in the Amazon river, reported Jammer Ramirez, head of Caretur Loreto.
“This project was designed based on the Regional Tourism Strategic Plan (Pertur). The document was presented to the authorities and they have included it in their plans. We expect that the project will start in February”, Ramirez said to Andina news agency.
The regional government seeks to turn Punchana into a pilot district regarding the promotion of rural community tourism.
The project includes the socialization, implementation and training in rural community tourism in the communities before mentioned, which will create more income and improve their quality of life.
