Tourism has become the principal income-generating activity in the world. The North-Amazon circuit is a region with great potential for tourism. Among its attractions are many museums and archeological monuments (Chan Chan, Sipán, Sicán, Sun and Moon Tombs, Cracked Tomb and Kuélap), breathtaking nature (the magic of the Amazon Jungle, the biodiversity of birds and “ceja de selva”), Tumbes’ mango groves, the northern dry forests, the beaches (Salt Point, Máncora, Pimentel), the lively culture (dances and handicrafts) and, of course, the most delicious foodg in all of Peru. In this age of globalization, a country like Peru, with the smoke-stack free industries in the northeast region, can doubtlessly attract substantial investments, employment and short and long term earnings.
